Implement National SILVER ALERT Notification Network
RESOLVED, that the National Silver Haired Congress urge the 112th United States Congress to establish a national Silver Alert notification network for missing vulnerable senior citizens, similar to the Amber Alert for children, so that law enforcement, news media, and the general public may be promptly notified and timely search and rescue may be undertaken when a vulnerable, disoriented elderly person is discovered missing.

RESOLVED, That the National Silver Haired Congress urge the US Congress to support funding of the Older Americans Act commensurate with inflation rates and the increase in the population of older Americans.

Increase Funding for Home and Community-based Services by Shifting from Institutional Care
RESOLVED, That the National Silver Haired Congress urge the United States Congress and the President to provide sufficient funds for the increasing numbers of seniors and persons with disabilities needing long term care services and for the shifting of some of those funds from institutional care to home and community-based services.

Prosecution and Restitution for Crimes Against Seniors
RESOLVED, That the National Silver Haired Congress urge the United States Congress to enact legislation that will mandate prosecution and make perpetrators pay restitution as well as serve time for committing crimes against seniors.

Convert The Existing Senate Special Committee on Aging to a Senate Standing Committee on Aging
RESOLVED, That the National Silver Haired Congress urge the US Senate to convert the existing Senate Special Committee on Aging to a Senate Standing Committee on Aging with full legislative authority, and to transfer to that Committee jurisdiction and oversight of issues and programs that primarily affect older Americans.

Strengthen Social Security – Old Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI) Trust Funds
RESOLVED, That the National Silver Haired Congress urge the Congress of the United States and the President of the United States move immediately to reject privatization and build a bipartisan consensus to correct Social Security’s solvency.
